Opening Reception Friday, Dec. 3, 6-10pm
Good Citizen Gallery
Dec. 3, 2010 - Jan. 8, 2011
Good Citizen invites you to Infrastructure, an exhibition of the work of St. Louis artist Arny Nadler.

For Infrastructure, Arny Nadler explores the material and formal potential of rebar, the steel reinforcing rod used to add internal support to concrete structures. His interest in this material stems in part from its relegated function; it is consigned to being a hidden armature. By bending and twisting the steel, Nadler's investigation of infrastructure extends beyond common construction methods to flowing forms that bring to mind waterways and topographical surveys.

Nadler recently completed a site-specific outdoor commission for the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, Illinois entitled Grosse Point Confluence, made out of 7000 feet of rebar. The sculptures for Infrastructure serve as studies for future large-scale projects.

Arny Nadler is an Associate Professor of Art at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. He received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI in 1994 and has since exhibited his work in indoor and outdoor exhibitions across the United States.
