Facing History and Ourselves presents this forgotten history in the resource book, Crimes Against Humanity and Civilization: The Genocide of the Armenians, to help educators engage their students in this history and to encourage critical thinking about the role of individuals, groups, and nations in an increasingly interdependent world.
Using the resource book, this Seminar explores historical narratives and groundbreaking scholarship focused on this difficult history. By concentrating on the choices that individuals, groups, and nations made before, during, and after the genocide, participants will consider the dilemmas faced by the international community in the face of massive human rights violations. Participants will examine how the decisions made in the past connect to the moral choices we face in our lives today.
