This free event is very much a family day with free parking and easy access. The day commences at 1100 with a massed parade in this historic High Street comprising Armed Forces, Royal British Legion, RAF Cadets and the local schools preceded by a Chinook flypast and led by a Cadet Band. On arrival in the Bury (Village Square) a short ceremony takes place where tankards and scrolls are issued to the Armed Forces followed by short speeches and a further flypast. We then slip seamlessly in to the Blues and Booze Festival where uniforms mix with family and friends. A good mix of local ales, hog roast, great blues music and parachuting teddy bears from the church tower make for a fete like atmosphere. Local ice cream and teas available all afternoon. A day in the Hampshire countryside to remember.
