The Band of The Life Guards will lead the procession through Swindon Town Centre to launch the Armed Forces Day celebrations on Saturday 25th June.
From State Investitures, Palace banquets, Royal Ascot and the Lord Mayor's Show The Band of The Life Guards features at many ceremonies and parades where the pomp and pageantry of our heritage is highlighted by the woven tapestry of military music and State occasions.
The band will not only lead the Military Parade, but will also perform as a live display at Wharf Green under the Big Screen directly after the Veteran’s Badge Ceremony.
inSwindon still intend to hold the Fly the Flag Ceremony at Wharf Green on Monday 20th June at 10.00am, to mark the official launch of Armed Forces Week.
Timings for Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25th June are as follows:
11.00am Military Parade leaves the Cenotaph in Regent Circus and will parade down Commercial Road, into Market Street and onto Wharf Green.
11.15am Military Service at Wharf Green begins.
12.00pm Veteran’s Badge Ceremony, presented by the Mayor of Swindon and Vice Lord Lieutenant Col James Arkell.
12.30pm Armed Forces Showcase throughout the town centre including static military displays and live displays at Wharf Green featuring The Band of The Life Guards.

Please also note that there will be short road closures in place along Commercial Road to allow the Parade through. Please see website for approximate timings.
