Armed Forces Day is a special Day for honoring our Troops. This is a day to recognize and honor the men and women that put their lives at risk for us.

We are having a special celebration ceremony at the New Wildwood Pavilion in Lake Orion (Right Across the street from Canterbury Village)

There will be all sorts of fun family festivies. From Live Music, Fun things for the kids to do, Military Displays, Special speakers such as Ron Savage from Fox 2 News, our State Representative Brad Jacobsen as well as so much more.

The Byron Fouty Foundation along with MC Leatherworks has sponsored this event for the last 5 years. The Byron Fouty Foundation was founded upon the Death of a Local Soldier, Byron Fouty 19 who along with 2 other men were kidnapped, tortured, Killed and missing in action for a year.

Byron was laid to rest in Texas on 25 July 2008 after a farewell to Michigan and Alex was laid to rest in New York 3 August 2008 after a farewell in Massachusetts, remains of both Heroes were ultimately recovered at the site where they had been discovered as recovery teams searched for more evidence of their captors.

Byron grew up in the Lake Orion/Waterford area. Wildwood a New Pavilion/Ampitheatre is opens itself to the public for the first time on this day. Although this is not the Official Grand Opening Day of the Wildwood it will certainly be a memorable day for many in the Lake Orion Twp. Because it will be the first event to ever be held there. And what a way to spend the first day, in Celebration and rememberance of those that fight for our FREEDOM!
