Armadillo String Quartet will present their 22nd annual Music by Peter Schickele concert at 7:30 pm on Monday, April 23, 2012. This event will take place at Neighborhood Church, located at 301 N. Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena, California. Members of the quartet are violinists Barry Socher and Steve Scharf, violist Raymond Tischer and cellist Armen Ksajikian, who will be joined by pianists Joanne Pearce Martin and Gavin Martin. The program will feature the World Premiere of Schickele's String Quartet No. 6, "Shadow Mountain", and the West Coast Premiere of his Piano Trio, "Alaria", for piano, violin and cello, and will include other works for quartet and piano four hands. Internationally known composer Peter Schickele will be on hand to provide comments on his music.

Founded in 1980, Los Angeles based Armadillo String Quartet has performed at many venues and events in Southern California, including the South Bay Chamber Music Society, the Pacific Composers’ Forum, the Santa Barbara Fall Music Festival, and the Los Angeles Bach Festival, as well as concerts at New York's Carnegie Hall and in Hong Kong.

Peter Shickele’s works exceed 100 for symphony orchestras, choral groups, chamber ensembles, voice, movies and television. His commissions include works for the National Symphony, The Audubon and Lark String Quartets, and compositions for many prominent musicians.
