Armadillo Christmas Bazaar: Holiday Shopping, Live Music and Fun December 12, 2012

One of Austin's favorite spots to pick up original holiday gifts isn't the local mall--it's the only-in-Austin annual Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. After all, where else can you discover unique, handcrafted works of art while listening to top bands from the local music scene.
From its humble origins as a small art fair at Austin's renowned Armadillo World Headquarters, the event has become a major holiday tradition, drawing 40,000 shoppers every year. It's also one of the most sought-after venues among artists looking to display their work. The show will run December 12-24 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center.

An art fair and music festival like no other, the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar offers a place where prominent--and up-and-coming--artisans can display their works in a fun, family-friendly environment (kids 12 and under get in free). Speaking of families, Monday, December 17 will be Kids Day with face painting and other activities for the young ones.
Patrons of the Armadillo come to find imaginative works of local and visiting artists, enjoy cold beer, and dance to live music. An eclectic range of musical offerings is featured each day, with artists such as Ray Wylie Hubbard, Marcia Ball, and The Band of Heathens performing.

Bringing together the local community has always been an essential part of the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar, and each day it will host several local non-profit organizations in the Community Area. A US Post Office will be onsite December 12- 20 for mailing gifts with an Armadillo Christmas Bazaar postmark.
