The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) will host its Southern Arizona luncheon, “Developing a Workforce in Southern Arizona,” on Wednesday, March 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Arizona Inn, located at 2200 E. Elm St., in Tucson.
A panel featuring Dr. David Allen, executive director of Tech Launch; Dr. Suzanne Miles, interim chancellor of Pima Community College; and Vickie L. Simmons, CPA, , deputy director of Arizona Workforce Connection, Cochise, Graham, Greenlee One Stop, will discuss workforce development issues affecting employers in southern Arizona and their impact on economic development in the region.

AAED was originally founded in 1974 as the Arizona Association for Industrial Development (AAID). The organization, which was dedicated to expanding the industrial and economic base of Arizona, changed to its current name in 1991 to better reflect its broader mission.
