The landmark meeting at Appomattox that brought the Civil War to an end is dramatized in an opera commissioned by San Francisco Opera, playing from October 5 to October 24. Join us as The Club hosts San Francisco Opera's Musical Administrator, Clifford "Kip" Cranna, and a panel discussing the company's world-premiere celebration of "Appomattox." The panel will feature librettist Christopher Hampton, composer Philip Glass, historian Patrick Schroeder from the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, and members of the cast and production team.
