ANZANGA, which means "to our friends," draws its name and music from the rich cultural heritage of Africa. Anzanga plays traditional and contemporary marimba music, plus original compositions created and arranged in an African style by their director, Sheree Seretse. The marimbas are hand-crafted xylophones made from various hardwoods. Each key sits above a resonator with a vibrating membrane to amplify the sound and add a unique “buzz” to the music. Anzanga feels privileged to be one of only a handful of groups in North America to play this joyful, vibrant music, and they are especially thrilled to be in the Midwest for the first time and in Madison, in particular. It is Anzanga’s goal to entertain, enlighten and inspire all who hear them! $6 Cover at the Door
