The OK Corral originated as an acoustic duo, and Brett and Mike spent the summer writing 5 originals, and following a plethora of makeshift and legitimate shows, these 5 original songs later became an EP in January 2008. In July of 2008, The OK Corral's lineup was finalized with Brett Nickley on lead vocals and guitar, Mike Matthews on lead guitar and vocals, Scott Nickley ..board and vocals, and Michael Burbrink on the drums. The new lineup got off to a fast start selling out Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA in August of 2008. This was both their first show as a full band and their first sell-out performance. The OK Corral continues to build up a full head of steam in an effort to make their music heard. The band has gained some national attention as they have been featured as a band of the week in AbsolutePunk.net's self-promotion spotlight drawing comparisons with the likes of Manchester Orchestra, The Format, and Steven Kellogg and the Sixers.
