At the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Anvil! The True Story of Anvil touched the heart and imagination of everyone who saw it. Anvil, the Toronto-based heavy metal group, influenced the bands of a musical generation, including Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, bands that went on to sell millions of records. But Anvil's career took a different path: straight to obscurity. Director Sacha Gervasi tells the story of Anvil's last-ditch quest for elusive fame and fortune. Anvil rocks! (It has no other choice.) Following the screening, Anvil will perform live at BAMcafe.
