DanceWorks presents Tracey Norman’s Anthology Vol. 1, an evening of four eclectic dance works sewn together as a collection of related events through distinctive movement, storytelling, original writing and music. Norman will premiere her wacky and comedic solo Insomnia and, along with seven of the city’s finest young dancers, present three of her previously acclaimed works: Waving from the Inside, Are we there yet? and Gifted. The content of the pieces range from the beauty and surrealism of dreamscapes, to the speed of our consumer-focused culture, and the theme of innocence lost using the story of Pandora. As a choreographer, Norman is known to create a movement language that is rich with small, surprising detail. Anthology Vol. 1 runs April 17 to 20 at the Winchester Street Theatre.
