Andrea Gray Stillman served as Ansel Adams’s personal assistant in the 1970s. In this revealing lecture, she shares lively and amusing anecdotes of their time together and provides insights into his work. Her memories of Adams show a man of great wit and charm. Through selected photographs, she illustrates the photographer’s professional growth from boyhood snapshots to such iconic images as Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico. This talk coincides with a new book of Ansel Adams photographs.
