The program will feature music by the Trondhjem Lutheran Church choir directed by Gale Hellerud and accompanied on the piano by Noelle Gray. The invocation will be given by the Rev. Frank Anderson of Richfield.
Each year families of the old Norwegian settlers, along with many other visitors, gather at Trondhjem for an afternoon of visiting, entertainment and lots of Norwegian goodies and coffee. The church is opened at noon for those who arrive early to view the restored building, browse through the museum, look at the collection of photographs, stroll through the cemetery and enjoy fellowship with friends.
Lunch, including open-face sandwiches, rosettes, krumkake, sandbakkels, lefse and other traditional Norwegian food, will be served immediately following the program.
There is no charge for the May 16 celebration, but a free will offering will be taken to help fund the maintenance and restoration of the building.
