The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) and Toronto J-Film Pow-Wow present the Annual Shinsedai Cinema Festival – a four-day celebration of Japanese Indie Films (many of which have never been shown in Canada) that offer a rare glimpse into Japanese life, culture and commentary.
Film buffs can enjoy a broad range of quirky comedies, moving dramas, J-horror, documentaries and experimental films. Filmmakers from Japan including Kiki Sugino, star and producer of Hospitalite, will be on site. The Festival is known for its informal format where attendees can discuss films with some of the top independent film directors and producers from Japan.
