ANNUAL Jolly Roger/Alan Ross Karaoke Contest February 4, 2009

The Annual Jolly Roger – Alan Ross Karaoke Contest is scheduled to begin this Wednesday, Feb 4th at 9:00pm. As always, we will have five weeks of qualifying rounds every Wednesday night when we will choose three finalists. The three finalists from each week will return on Wednesday, March 11th to duke it out for the grand prize. Each week, the three finalists will each win prizes and then during the finals, there will be a number of great prizes given out with the top three winners taking home some truly wonderful gifts.

This year, the contest is open to everyone except employees from the Jolly Roger or the Alan Ross Karaoke Roadshow. The contestants will judge each other on Song Choice (how well the song suits the vocalist), Stage Presence (how well the vocalist captures your attention) and Vocal Talent (how well do they actually sing their song). Up to 20 points can be given to each contestant.

After the judges have each scored all the contestants, the scores will be added together and the three vocalists with the highest combined scores will be the finalists chosen to compete in the finals on March 11th.

Contestants who do not place in the top three, can continue to return each week to compete again for a place in the finals. We have had contestants in the past who tried out each week and only made it into the finals on the last week, and then went on to place in the top three during the finals. As with any subjective judging, you never know what’s going to happen! C’mon out and join the fun!
