The Pleasant Home Foundation invites families to experience the games, chores, and stories of life before television, iPods, and laptops during their annual Children’s Day. This free event features hands-on outdoor stations, where children of all ages can participate in games such as hoop rolling and chores like carpet beating. Turn-of-the-century craft time will allow kids to make and take home a vintage toy. Lemonade and popcorn will be served.
Child-friendly tours of the extraordinary interior of Pleasant Home will include guides in costume and a historic photo exhibit of Pleasant Home and how children lived in this landmark mansion and throughout the surrounding area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
