DC?s Improv Powerhouse Unleashes
Whirlwind of Summer Comedy

Washington, DC, May 9, 2006 ? Washington?s summer just got a lot more unpredictable. The band of improvisers who make up Washington Improv Theater (WIT) are unleashing a stunning array of comic performances to astonish and entertain DC audiences, beginning May 19. WIT?s players generate spontaneous, unscripted comedy that is sure to keep the summer doldrums at bay. For seven straight weekends, WIT delivers four shows a night, with two double-bills, one at 8 and one at 9:30. All shows are completely improvised and tickets ($12 and $8) are the most affordable in town.
The 8pm time slot features the longtime fixture ensemble Jackie, combined on alternating nights with the baseball-fixated Full Count and upstart troupe Jinx. WIT ensemble onesixtyone (originally the company?s Mainstage cast) headlines the 9:30 slot, joined on alternating nights by Dr. Fantastic and guest troupe Season Six. 8pm shows are $12, tickets for 9:30pm are $8.
