Annie directed by Diane DuBoise We want to thank you all for making auditions for ANNIE a great experience! We enjoyed watching each of you in the number of roles that you read and sang. Unfortunately we could not cast everyone or everyone in the roles that they preferred. This is the process of directing that becomes the most difficult! I know you all know that we had a very difficult task in casting ANNIE. You ALL brought something special and great to each part. In saying this, We hope those of you that were not cast will come back and audition for other shows at the WBS. We also hope that you will plan on helping with the show in some way! Those of you that have been cast you will be receiving an e-mail or phone call in the next few days regarding more information. Again, THANKS to each and everyone of you! We look forward to seeing you soon! Diane DuBoise & Christopher Carter TEAM ANNIE Synopsis: New York City during the Depression. Annie lives in an orphanage run by the ill-tempered, heavy drinking Miss Hannigan. Like the rest of the children, Annie doesn't like the orphanage and hates Miss Hannigan. When Annie is chosen to spend the Christmas holidays with the wealthy industrialist Oliver Warbucks, Miss Hannigan is infuriated that Annie will be spending the holidays in the lap of luxury. Warbucks is charmed by Annie's and good spirits and is eager to adopt her, but Annie is convinced that one day her real parents will come back to claim her. Warbucks loves her enough to offer a fifty thousand dollar reward in the search for her folks. That's when Miss Hannigan's con-artist brother Rooster and his floozy girlfriend Lily, concoct a scheme to pose as Annie's long lost parents. Along the way Annie befriends a mutt named Sandy and even President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Cost: $12 for Students and Senior Citizens $15 for Adults
