The Ann Arbor Film Festival (AAFF) is the longest-running showcase of independent, experimental and artistically inspired film in North America and is internationally recognized as a premiere showcase for creative and influential films of all types from avant-garde, story-based narratives, documentaries, and animation.
This years selected program features a wide range of off-the cuff topics, from a study on 2007 Manitoba/Saskatchewan Auctioneer Champion, a site in the Mojave Desert where people gather to see visions of the Virgin Mary appear in the sun, to the world's largest shopping mall (South China Mall - which is over two times the size of the Mall of America!).
The screening will be presented by Donald Harrison, AAFF Executive Director, to facilitate an open Q&A session after the program about the process of curating media art and current media art trends. This event is co-sponsored by the Experimental Television Center and UB Dept. of Media Study.
