By revisiting the question of discplinarity as understood by Foucault and others, and by lingering over some of the assumptions around the template of "cultural studies" that looms in the background of "animal studies", this talk will explore the relationship between (trans)disciplinarity and anthropocentrism. Cary Wolfe is the Bruce and Elizabeth Dunlevie Professor of English at Rice University.
