What makes a fish a fish and a mammal a mammal? Kids will discover the answers during Animal Diversity Week, February 15 to 21, at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration.
Fun and educational activities include hands-on contact with local species of crabs and sea stars at the Discovery Lab and the opportunity to “build” a fish to learn what makes them unique. Kids will also discover the distinct characteristics of reptiles and amphibians, and will learn the differences between seals, sea lions, puffins and penguins at the aquarium’s exhibits.
Activities and games will take place daily on the main exhibit floor and in the classrooms from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
