Singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco reads from her poetry collection, Verses.

Wordsmiths Books is thrilled to present singer, songwriter, poet, artist, and activist Ani DiFranco for a very special conversation about, and reading from, her recently released poetry collection, Verses. Interspersed with her own paintings, Verses collects for the first time the outspoken icon's sometimes personal, sometimes political, but always poignant poetry. Ani will be discussing the technique and motivation behind her writings, as well as the personal and political implications contained therein. Leading this certain-to-be-enlightening discussion is Dr. Rebecca Hyman, professor of Feminist Theory, English, and Literature at Oglethorpe University. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime afternoon opportunity to hear Ani DiFranco discuss the deeper roots of her writing in the intimate environment of Wordsmiths Books. Co-sponsored by the Georgia Center for the Book. THIS IS NOT A MUSICAL PERFORMANCE. DUE TO PERSONAL AND TIME CONSTRAINTS, ANI WILL NOT BE AUTOGRAPHING. Though this event is free, Wordsmiths Books will have copies of Ani's Verses available for purchase, both during the event and for pre-order. To ensure that we continue to be able to provide high caliber events such as this, we ask that you please purchase your book from us.
