ANDROCLES AND THE LION: Is an enchanting treatment of Aesop's fable, in the style of Italian Commedia dell'Arte. Androcles, a Roman slave, tries to help Isabella and Lelio escape Isabella's stingy uncle, Pantalone. Androcles helps the couple hide in the woods and in the process accidentally becomes a runaway slave, an offense punishable by death in the Roman arena. But while in the woods Androcles makes a unlikely friend who may just change everything. A colorful theatrical experience with zany comedy and warmth that teaches us that to make friends is always an act of risk and vulnerability.
