Regina Hexaphone was started in Durham, North Carolina in 1997 by local music veterans Sara Bell and Chris Clemmons. All of the band's musicians, in fact, are familiar faces to those who have followed the area's music scene. Ross Grady of trianglemusic.com calls them "a bona-fide supergroup of folks who're far too modest to ever think of themselves that way."
