The McNish Art gallery presents, “And This Is How It Ended? (The Divorce Show)”, a group exhibition running October 10 to November 2, 2007. Curated by Los Angeles artist/concept engineer, Ronald Lopez, the exhibition features artists primarily from the Los Angeles area as well as artists based in Chicago, New Mexico and Switzerland. The artist reception will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 4:00 – 6:00 pm. McNish Gallery is located on the Oxnard College campus at 4000 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard.

“And This Is How It Ended? (The Divorce Show)”, an all women show, brings together established and emerging artists whose bold works range from painting to photography, installation and drawing. The exhibition is an exploration of what it means to be divorced from eight women who bring forth various interpretations of the topic. Half of the women are divorcees, a few are single and one artist is currently married. Though the journey through divorce is never a joyful event, it can bring about a positive and hopeful future for some while, for others, it can be a very lonely place filled with despair.

The McNish Gallery welcomes public viewing two times a week or by appointment. Gallery hours are Mondays and Wednesdays and also by appointment. The show is free and open to the public. Parking is $1.
