Acclaimed mbira players, musicians, and Zimbabwean cultural experts Erica Azim (one of the first Americans to study the mbira in Zimbabwe, pictured below) and Patience Chaitezvi (pictured right) come to Tufts for a week-long residency featuring lectures, demonstrations, open workshops in singing, drumming, dancing, and expert mbira playing. Azim and Chaitezvi will present a formal performance together at Tufts in the Distler Performance Hall on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 8 pm. Tickets are required. Tickets are free for anyone with a Tufts ID, $10 for the public. Call 617.627.3679 for ticket.
