Ballet Jörgen Canada, Canada’s Local Ballet Company, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an original performance of ANASTASIA. This is Ballet Jorgen Canada's largest undertaking to date, a new, full-length, all Canadian original production. It will be choreographed by Artistic Director Bengt Jorgen and trace the mystery of the young Grand Duchess. This lavish production takes place over the four fateful years that transformed an Empire and shook the world. A large cast of dancers will portray characters such as the Tsar and Tsarina, dashing soldiers, charming household staff, Red Guards, downtrodden members of the working class and, of course, the Grand Duchess herself. Sets and costumes are designed by renowned Canadian Theatre designer Sue LePage and a full-sized symphony score has been commissioned from Russian-Canadian composer Ivan Barbotin
