The Dupree’s

The Duprees are known across the world for their romantic interpretations of some of the most beautiful love songs ever written. They have made a career out of giving new life to old hits. If you take the Glenn Miller arrangements of the 1940's along with the tunes of Joni James, Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford, Nat King Cole, (just to name a few) and put them together, you have the sound of The Duprees. 1962 You Belong To Me ,1962 My Own True Love , 1963 Gone With The Wind , 1963 Take Me As I Am , 1963 Why Don't You Believe Me ,1963 Have You Heard, 1963 Love Eyes, 1964 Where Are You, 1964 It Isn't Fair, 1965 I'm Yours, 1966 Let Them Talk, 1967 I Understand, 1969 Two Different Worlds.

Carl Gardner’s Coasters

The Coasters first hit the charts with a double-sided smash "Young Blood" the "A" side and "SEARCHING" the "B" side. Both sold a million copies. This put The Coasters on the road. In 1958, The Coasters again had two blockbuster hits, "Yakety Yak" and "Charlie Brown". The present line-up of The Coasters consists of Carl Gardner, lead tenor, Jimmy Norman, second tenor, Ronnie Bright, Bass and Thomas (Curly) Palmer, musical Director and arranger have been together for over 28 years. On January 21, 1987, The Coasters (Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Will Jones and Cornell Gunter) were inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Kid Kyle

At the age of eight, Kyle experienced his first taste of national exposure when he appeared on American Idol Junior; Kyle was one of 60 children chosen to attend the next round of auditions in Los Angeles, California.

In the spring of 2005, Kyle recorded his first CD, "Kid Kyle and his Kool Kats”. By November 2005, Kyle began to receive media exposure. An article in the Bergen Record entitled "Instead of rapping, he's Doo-Wopping" lead to an appearance on NBC'S "Today in New York", Fox's "Good Day New York" and a national appearance on "The Tony Danza Show".

In The spring of 2006, Kyle returned to the studio to record his sophomore CD”Tribute to the Lymon Brothers". In September 2007 Kyle released his third CD entitled "Here's Kid Kyle". This CD was produced and recorded at Ganzilla Music in Cranford, NJ.

Today Kyle continues to wow audiences with his talent and showmanship Pittsburgh's WTAE Channel 4 Five o'clock news has referred to Kid Kyle as the "Prince of Doo Wop" and also as the "King in Training".
Eugene Pitts & The Jive Five
Formed in Brooklyn, New York, The Jive Five's first hit, "My True Story," was their biggest, peaking at number one on the R&B charts and number three on pop charts in the summer of 1961. Under the direction of Eugene Pitt and Norman Johnson, the Jive Five refashioned themselves as a soul band in 1964, forming a new lineup with Casey Spencer (tenor), Webster Harris (tenor), and Beatrice Best (baritone). This new incarnation of the band signed to United Artists Records. The group only had one hit on UA, 1965's "I'm A Happy Man."
1985, Eugene and The Jive Five were introduced to New York cable TV branding consultants Fred Seibert and Alan Goodman by his latest producer, Ambient Sound's Marty Pekar. Together they embarked on an almost ten year relationship creating and singing the acappella signature sound of the American kids' television network Nickelodeon, one of the first popular "network" specialized cable television channel. They used the group to write and record some of the most memorable advertising jingles of its day with the catch phrase "Nic-Nic-Nic", performed in a doo wop style. They were part of the popular "Kid's Choice" awards.
The group performed on the PBS special Doo Wop 50. The lineup was Pitt, Spencer, Richard Harris, Best, and a fifth member. The group released a single in 2003 entitled It's Christmas. It was credited to "Eugene Pitt and the Jive Five" and featured Pitt, Best, Gill, Unthank, and the Lorias. Webster Harris died in 2003.
The group continued to perform and record for a variety of small labels during the '70s, but they never had another hit. Throughout the '70s and '80s, the only constant member was Eugene Pitt. For the rest of the '80s and the '90s, the Jive Five were regulars on the oldies circuit. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All-Music Guide

The Harptones
There are three factors that make up the magic of The Harptones' music: their catchy, infectious, sometimes haunting, melody lines; their easy, close harmonic confection, which is synonymous with the early Harlem vocal group sound; and the warm, soft and lifting tenor lead of Willie Winfield heard on their artistic compositions, many of which were composed by Raoul J. Cita. They are perhaps the most beloved, respected, and revered New York vocal group and remain a beacon for most aspiring East Coast hallway harmonizers. Through the years, they have always been a close-knit group, with feelings of love and deep concern for one another. Every song they ever sang had a special meaning to them.
The Harptones –Willie Winfield, Raoul J. Cita, William Dempsey James, Marlowe Murray, and Vickie Burgess - continue to perform and thrill audiences all over the world. These musical pioneers have had significant influence and major impact on many other vocal groups. They have contributed greatly to the growth of rock 'n' roll and have given the world a musical legacy that is second to none. Their credentials speak for themselves. They unquestionably deserve to be nominated and inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
