Jay Siegel and the Tokens: Young men singing Doo Wop in high school bathrooms and on street corners across New York City was hardly extraordinary in the late 50s and early 60s. What is extraordinary, though, is the incredible feat that one of those groups from Brooklyn has accomplished.

First breaking onto the pop charts in 1961, THE TOKENS got back on the charts in the 1990s and were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame in 2004.

THE TOKENS continue to distinguish themselves with the second-longest chart span in the history of Rock & Roll. More than 30 years after the debut of their first big hit, "TONIGHT I FELL IN LOVE", they re-emerged on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart in August, 1994, following the re-release of their chart-topping single, "THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT." Making the statistic even more impressive, the South African folk song "Wimoweh," which inspired THE TOKENS’ song that went to #1 worldwide, first charted 42 years earlier. No other song title can claim that longevity.

Frankie Ford: sang his way to rock n' roll immortality in 1959 with the mega hit "SEA CRUISE". That song has become one of the greatest rock n' roll classics of all time. The tag line, "OOH-WEE, OOH-WEE, BABY" is one of the most recognizable lines in all of popular music.

He is known all over the world as the "New Orleans Dynamo" and spends about 200 days a year on the road. The legendary rock n' roll pianist and performer continues to entertain the masses all over the world in concerts, night clubs, casinos and festivals

Shirley Alston Reeves: All time Shirelle favorites include "Tonight's The Night," "Baby It's You," the soulful "This Is Dedicated To The One I Love," "Foolish Little Girl," and the group's 5 million-album selling hit "Soldier Boy."

1996 Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer Shirley Alston Reeves is loved by all who have had the pleasure of meeting and hearing her golden vocals. Her show is designed to please even the toughest musical appetites.

California Center For The Arts

California Center for the Arts, Escondido is situated on a 12-acre campus in downtown Escondido adjacent to Escondido City Hall and Grape Day Park. The campus is comprised of a 1,523-seat Concert Hall, a 406-seat Center Theater, a visual arts Museum, art and dance studios, and a Conference Center containing meeting and banquet facilities. Groundbreaking occurred on June 22, 1991. Since its opening on October 1, 1994, The Center has attracted more than one-million visitors through its performing and visual arts presentations, events in the Conference Center, and education programs.

The firm of Moore Ruble Yudell of Santa Monica, Calif. designed The Center. The General Contractor on the project was McKee Construction Company. Theatre consultation was by Theatre Projects Consultants, Inc. The acoustician was the Talaske Group.

From its inception, visionaries planning The Center had a three-part purpose. The Center would be a place where people could come for entertainment - to enjoy the visual and performing arts, and of equal importance, The Center would become a focal point for a comprehensive arts education program. Additionally, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido was to serve as a community center. By combining these three elements: the visual and performing arts, arts education and a community center, citizens benefit from the three collectively more so than if they operated separately.
