OCAD Professional Gallery (Level 2)
Mark Lewis exploits film's ability to re-invent the picturesque, and celebrates its failure to be a picture as creating an opportunity to think through picture-making's formal possibilities and limits. "The viewer," he says, "must be absolutely free to remake the work."
Originally from Canada but now living in the U.K., Lewis has shown throughout North America, Great Britain and Europe at such venues as the Vancouver Art Gallery, Witte de With (Rotterdam) and the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), and is represented by the Monte Clark Gallery.
Presented by the OCAD Professional Gallery and Faculty of Art in a fully accessible venue with American Sign Language translation. All are welcome; admission is free.
