1) Teaching with Heart,Mind, and Body
4:30pm-6:30pm
Although play is often contrasted with work, they are actually complimentary activities, building upon one another. This seminar will describe the role of play, love, and work in learning and development,as well as suggest ways that teachers can combine these three entities for instruction and classroom management.

2)The Power of Play
7:00pm – 8:30pm
A child’s right to free self-initiated and uninhibited
play is increasingly being silenced in today’s fastpaced,technology-ridden world. Play is now seen as a waste of time, or at best, a luxury that can no longer be afforded. Yet self-initiated play is a medium for learning basic intellectual, social, and emotional skills. It is also the wellspring of curiosity,imagination and creativity. The lecture will deal with the importance of play, and its role in learning and development. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of what parents and teachers can do to bring spontaneous play back into the lives of children.
