Amy Cook opening for Alejandro Escovedo
Amy Cook is a singer/songwriter from Texas who weaves the sounds of folk, pop, and alt country into a "moody and kick-ass" (Velvet Park) canopy of sound. She was one of only a handful of musicians such as Tegan & Sara and Amanda Palmer featured in Out Magazine's Top 100 of 2008. Amy released her sophomore album, The Sky Observer's Guide, in 2007 to praise both local and far-reaching for its delicate beauty and "ethereal wonderland" (No Depression). After spending time performing and recording in LA and Marfa, TX, she now lives in Austin, where she is preparing for the release of her third full-length. Scheduled for release in late 2009, the record was produced by Alejandro Escovedo and features appearances by artists like Patti Griffin.
