American Repertory Ballet returns to the State Theatre in New Brunswick for their annual performances of The Nutcracker. Come celebrate the 45th season of this family classic.
American Repertory Ballet’s production of the The Nutcracker, choreographed by Artistic Director Graham Lustig, features the professional dancers of American Repertory Ballet alongside students of ARB’s Princeton Ballet School. Lustig presents his version of The Nutcracker in early 1900 Germany and has introduced three new characters, Vera, the Cadet, and Aunt Edith, to help explain why Marie would dream of falling in love with the Nutcracker. Marie’s cousin, Vera, is being suited by the Cadet, and Marie watches endearingly as the courtship ensues at the Christmas Eve party. When she falls asleep, she dreams of being whisked away by the Nutcracker to a colorful, magical world filled with Big Fluffy Snowballs, Sleek Snow Maidens, Marzipan from Germany, Chocolate from Spain, Coffee from Arabia, and more!
Come enjoy the magic of the holiday season with American Repertory Ballet and students of ARB’s Princeton Ballet School. Whether it is your first ballet experience, or one of many, The Nutcracker will sweep you off your feet.
