Learn how to perform CPR and manage breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. Participants learn how to: recognize and respond to an emergency, move a person from a dangerous scene, minimize the risk of disease transmission when giving care, check a person for life-threatening and nonlife-threatening conditions, demonstrate how to give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and identify the general steps for the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) Participants will receive a workbook and laminated skills card that include full-color images and easy-to-read text that will walk them step by step through a variety of lifesaving skills. The skills card is an excellent refresher and reference tool after training is complete. After successfully demonstrating the required skills and completing the written exam, participants will receive the American Red Cross CPR/AED Adult certification, valid for one year.
