The American Orchid Society welcomes guests back to its popular, “Wine & Jazz in the Botanical Gardens.”

On January 21, February 18, March 18, and April 15, the gardens and greenhouse are open to celebrate orchids in bloom, as patrons enjoy appetizers and live music.

Wine & Jazz will be held at 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month from January through April 2010.

Price: $20 for AOS/Garden Members and $25 for non-members.

“This series is a lovely way to experience the orchid gardens and greenhouse at night, take a stroll while the sun sets and enjoy live music and good food,” said Susan Wayman of the American Orchid Society. “We hope those who joined us last year return and bring new friends with them.”

Holidays in Bloom at AOS
Orchid enthusiasts have another reason to stop by the AOS when guest speakers and demonstrators show visitors how to incorporate beautiful flowers into the holidays. On Dec. 19-20, orchid grower Robert Fuchs will be on-hand to sign his book, “Robert’s Road;” orchid art and jewelry will be on display and for sale from Dawn Vertrees (www..dawnvertrees.com). Supplies from Broward Orchid Supply (www.browardorchidsupply.com) will be available, and at 2 p.m., visitors can observe an AOS judging with the West Palm Beach judging center. Classes on orchid care and repotting will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.
