With a world premiere, a rising piano virtuoso, and iconic West Side Story melodies, this concert promises to be unforgettable. A pianist with superb musicianship and riveting technical brilliance, Xiayin Wang presents Gershwin’s Concerto in F, inspired by jazz, blues and ragtime. Commissioned by the Santa Barbara Symphony, Jonathan Leshnoff, known for quickly winning an international reputation as one of America’s most gifted composers, has written a Concerto Grosso, highlighting the principal players of the orchestra.
