Can Fiestaware, that brightly colored Depression-era ceramic dinnerware, represent and illuminate the secrets of human relationships? Can it serve as a metaphor for political and idealogical acceptance in the modern world, and bring civil, thoughtful discourse back to the dinner table? When an obsessive collector of vintage Fiestaware sets off in search of the perfect specimens, he finds some startling divides within his own family, as well as a surprising series of connections between residents of 'red' and 'blue' states. In his comedic cross-country travels, he ultimately finds hope and acceptance, as well as some fabulous serving bowls.
