The playwright of the ill-fated 1825 flop Rosamunde said of Schubert’s beguiling music “tender and indescribably poignant and profound, the irresistible force of the sonorities kept everyone spellbound.” The ACO proudly opens our 27th season with this musical jewel at the acoustically superb Alice Tully Hall. Hear the luscious Brahms Alto Rhapsody and Haydn’s masterful London Symphony in a rare performance on period instruments.
