Continuing to bring world-class cultural offerings to Montgomery County, American Dance Institute will present the youthful talents of the critically-acclaimed American Ballet Theatre II (ABT II) on Saturday, April 19th at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 20th at 2 p.m, as they showcase a world premier of Aszure Barton’s Barbara. ABT II is the apprentice company of world-famous American Ballet Theatre (ABT). This junior company is comprised of 13 outstanding young dancers and prepares them for entrance into ABT or other leading professional companies.
The young dancers are hand-picked from around the world by ABT’s artistic staff. Once in the company, the dancers learn and perform repertory pieces created by young choreographers, who are selected to create works specifically for ABT II. Their performances at American Dance Institute will also include Cake, Allegro Brillante and the Don Quixote Pas de Deux. Tickets for the performances are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for students with valid ID, seniors, children and those with a DC dance pass.
