ABT presents its annual Gala program, featuring exquisite performances by ABT's renowned dancers. On Opening Night, the world's greatest dancers take center stage to perform three premieres created specifically for the concert hall plus additional gala fare. Alexei Ratmansky choreographs a new, intimate work inspired by the brilliant piano sonatas of the Italian composer Domenico Scarlatti, a contemporary of J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel. Benjamin Millepied creates a large ensemble piece, set to music from Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lang, and Canadian Aszure Barton choreographs a new ballet inspired by a Violin Sonata composed by Maurice Ravel.
