Songwriter's Circle Hosted by Ingrid Graudins
featuring... Shelley Miller, Amber Rubarth, Colby Beserra, & Bruce Roper
Chicago singer/songwriter Shelley Miller has a big voice and a knack for small details. A versatile guitarist and highly expressive performer, she's released three albums, toured the country and been honored in several national songwriting competitions. She teaches guitar, songwriting and Wiggleworms at the Old Town School of Folk Music and bakes a mean batch of vegan cookies.
Amber Rubarth won the Grand Prize in the 2010 New Song Mountain Stage Contest, giving her the great opportunity to record her upcoming release with Grammy-Award winning producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon), followed by a performance on NPR’s Mountain Stage. Her songs have already attracted enthusiastic praise from NPR's All Songs Considered, The Huffington Post, BBC Radio, Acoustic Guitar Magazine, and a Sun Studio Session now airing nation-wide on PBS.
Colby has been a professional musician and theater artist in Chicago for 15 years. His self-titled debut of original material (Colby Beserra) was released in 2005, and his duo album featuring original arrangements of pop tunes with NY-based piano player Dan Lipton (Jukebox Saloon) came out in 2006. Both are available on iTunes and CD Baby; a second Jukebox Saloon album is due this year.
He’s the boy in the band “Sons of the Never Wrong”. He’s got 20 years and 6 CD's worth of contemporary Chicago acoustic/folk music under his belt without a day off.
