'Amadeus' is a drama by Peter Schaffer about God's capricious bestowal of talent. Salieri, an established yet second-rate composer in the 18th century, has given himself to God in the hopes of achieving greatness. However, when the musical genius Mozart arrives at the Austrian court with both his brilliance and his bathroom humor, Salieri sets out to destroy the upstart who has fouled his dreams.
