Alvin Jett & the Phat noiZ Announce Honey Bowl CD Release Dates & Party
Honey Bowl, the fourth album by Alvin Jett & the Phat noiZ, will be released on Belgium’s Blues Boulevard record label (a subsidiary of Music Avenue Records) this spring. The record will be available in Europe on April 10th, with a North American release scheduled for May 12th. The band is also planning a release party on May 2nd in their hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
According to Alfie Falkenbach of Blues Boulevard Records, “Guitarist Alvin Jett & the Phat noiZ deliver an original brand of in-your-face, hard driving blues. Alvin Jett represents the future generation of blues; he is the ultimate continuation of the legacy of the St. Louis blues guitar tradition.”
The band describes Honey Bowl as its most diverse offering yet, with songs touching on genres such as instrumental jazz (“Me, You And Cydnee” and “Lucky Charms”); hard-edged funk (“Make Me Blue” and “Dem Haterz”); and danceable soul (“The Wreck” and “Honey Bowl”). The band’s blues roots are also on display in songs like “Lay My Burden Down” and “Graveyard Shift.” The album is already receiving rave reviews from the European music press and has been steadily gaining airplay throughout the continent.
On Saturday, May 2nd, the band will host a hometown release party at the legendary St. Louis music venue, BB’s Jazz, Blues & Soups, in downtown St. Louis. The party begins at 10:00pm. At the party, attendees will be able to purchase the CD prior to its May 12th release. The band will be performing the new record live, in its entirety, at the event as well. New Phat noiZ merchandise will be available, and a number of musical guests are expected to perform with the band. For more information, visit the band’s website at www.phatnoiz.com.
