This four-piece band has made a name for themselves in St. Louis with their hard driving, in-your-face blues. Their original material reveals roots in rock, funk, R&B, soul, and at times, hints of gospel and rockabilly. The band has worked hard to craft a signature sound that transforms easily from high-energy rock to blues ballads. As Jim DeKoster of Living Blues Magazine wrote, “Alvin Jett himself proves to be a potent singer and guitarist in the post-Albert King style…Give credit to Jett and his band for giving their blues a fresh sound.”
The band participated in the 2007 International Blues Challenge (IBC) sponsored by the St. Louis Blues Society. The song Angels Sing the Blues from their latest release, Milk and Cookies, was the winner in the blues category of the sixth Independent Music Awards. Alvin Jett and the Phat noiZ Blues Band were also finalists in the 2006 IBC, and their 2005 release, Wet My Beak, was in the final five for Best Self-Released CD.
The band performs regularly in St. Louis, Columbia, Lake of the Ozarks, Peoria, IL, and other areas in and around the Midwest. They just completed a two week tour of Florida, their second tour of the state, and are looking forward to getting back out on the road next month to perform again in Peoria.
