Alton Fringe Theatre has used the intimate space of Amery Hill's Drama Studio to present challenging and entertaining plays over the last 20 years. In this adaptation of Dickens' 'Great Expectations' Neil Bartlett uses only words from the novel in a theatrical style incorporating physical theatre skills and and minimal settings to allow the narration to move as smoothly as the river itself from the windswept marshes to London. A classic exploration of childhood terrors and hopes -and adult dreams and regrets.
