The long awaited debut album from local rock heroes Alternative Carpark is being revealed to impatient fans in Petersfield this Friday (Sept 10 th).
The album ‘In Revelation' (which features a woolly mammoth on the cover) has taken several years to put together, but will finally be launched at Foggy's Bar in the centre of Petersfield, a town the band are very familiar with having put on many shows there over the last few years.
Bass player and founding member Stewart Ireland tells why a debut album has been such a long time coming:
"We have been trying to make this album for years, but we are all perfectionists and never had the money or the time to make the album we really wanted to make. We're really happy with how it turned out and taking that extra time meant we had stacks of tunes to pick from!"
Alternative Carpark will also be heading back out on the road for a few dates when Portuguese band Miss Lava return to the UK from the 1st October. This follows the tour Alternative Carpark played over there in July where they got to play the album to a new crowd.
"We used Portugal as a bit of a testing ground to see how people took to this collection of songs. We got some amazing feedback so now we're confident that people over here who have been waiting for a long time for this album are going love it."
Alternative Carpark will be playing throughout the evening at Foggy's Bar in Petersfield this Friday night from 8pm.
