Altered Books: Childhood Memories with Rikki Mitman October 28, 2010

Altered books are great for journals, memory books, and themed works of art. While there are no rules, there are a number of techniques that help create a cohesive, durable piece. In this two-day, hands-on intensive workshop, you'll learn to select base books, strengthen pages, and build various internal structures, including pockets, fold-outs, and niches. You will learn various ways to collage and incorporate materials into your altered book. Books and most materials are provided; bring childhood photos, report cards, trinkets, and other mementos to include in your book. No previous art experience is necessary; appropriate for adults of all levels.
$45 plus $20 for materials.
