Alonzo King LINES Ballet Fall Home Season, Scheherazade October 15, 2010

San Francisco's celebrated Alonzo King LINES Ballet company presents Scheherazade—a timeless romantic fable interpreted through choreographer Alonzo King's distinctive artistic lens. Scheherazade is a re-envisioning of the ancient collection of Persian, Sanskrit, and Arabic stories of 1,001 Nights. The new score by King's long-time collaborator, tabla master Zakir Hussain, re-interprets the original music by Rimsky-Korsakov, incorporating traditional Persian as well as Western instruments, performed live.
